Resolve updates and big Blackmagic price cuts
Welcome to the First Edition!
Hey, creatives! This is your new go-to newsletter for DaVinci Resolve, Fusion, post-production tools, and some cool online finds. Expect tips, tricks, and workflow hacks every week. Let’s dive into the highlights!
DaVinci Resolve’s Latest Update
The latest update brings a Help Search feature to the top menu bar under “Help.” Type in what you’re looking for, and it shows you exactly where to find it in Resolve. I think this was already in the Mac version, but now Windows users get to enjoy this super helpful functionality too!
For those working in Fusion and adding controls to tools, there are a few updates to the Edit Control window. I can’t even remember the last time this tool got an update, so it’s nice to see some improvements here. I hope we see the Macro window get some love next!
Until then, I’d recommend checking out a tool I came across recently called The New Macro Creator. It’s a big step up from the built-in tools, especially if coding isn’t your thing. Definitely worth a look!
New Plugin Alert: Haze by FilmConvert
FilmConvert’s Haze brings the magic of diffusion filters to post-production. Soften highlights, smooth uneven skin tones, and add a dreamy bloom effect to strong light sources—all with customizable presets. Perfect for achieving cinematic softness without on-set filters. Learn more about hazy
Motion Typeface: Dynamic Text Animation Tool
I’ve been working on a tool called Motion Typeface, and it’s finally out! It’s designed to make creating animated typography in DaVinci Resolve and Fusion simple and flexible. Whether it’s for commercials, films, or YouTube, this tool helps bring your text to life.
Now that it’s live, I’d love your input. If you have favorite fonts or typefaces you think would work well as animated versions, let me know! Drop me an email at [email protected] with your ideas—I want to build tools that fit your needs. This is just the start!
