Fresh DaVinci Resolve Tools

Hey post-pro friends! 2025 is already bringing some exciting updates. From my new Old World title pack in DaVinci Resolve to FilmLight’s REMOTE grading and Blackmagic’s Android camera expansion, let’s break it down!
Fresh Fusion Finds: Old World Title Pack Drops
Hey post-pro friends! I just released the first title pack of 2025, and it’s looking pretty sweet. The “Old World” collection brings 20 vintage-style title templates to DaVinci Resolve.
These aren’t your standard boring titles. Think classic, timeless designs perfect for wedding videos, travel documentaries, or any project needing a touch of historical elegance. The templates are ready to drag, drop, and customize. If you’re looking to add some sophisticated flair to your next edit, this pack might be worth a peek.
Pro tip: I’m running a launch sale this week, so if you’re interested, now’s the time to grab it.
FilmLight now REMOTE
I know most of my readers are using DaVinci Resolve, but a few of you have used or are using Baselight. It’s better late than never for a remote solution, and FilmLight just launched REMOTE – their answer to color grading from anywhere. This tool lets color professionals control their setup from home or another location without losing that crisp, professional image quality.
Real-world testing from top post-production houses like UNIT TV and Coffee & TV shows promise. As Lewis Crossfield from Coffee & TV put it, “You’d never know the Baselight wasn’t in the building.” REMOTE supports multiple 4K monitors, professional video streaming, and various control panels, giving facilities more flexibility to host equipment in data centers or cloud environments.
Blackmagic Camera Expands Android Capabilities
Blackmagic Camera 2.0 arrives with robust support for Android tablets and phones like Xiaomi Pad 6 and Samsung S25 series. The update introduces multi-camera remote control, allowing users to simultaneously monitor and control multiple devices across a single WiFi network.
Sony Xperia users gain high-frame-rate recording at 120 and 240 fps, complemented by Tilta Nucleus USB lens control. The free app provides professional-grade camera controls, enabling direct Blackmagic Cloud recording and seamless integration with DaVinci Resolve.
The app is definitely worth taking a look at as it adds additional features to your phone camera with advanced monitoring tools like zebra settings, focus peaking, and histogram displays. Users can adjust settings with single taps, shoot in various aspect ratios, and leverage professional audio options, transforming Android devices into powerful filmmaking tools.
Keep creating, stay curious, and never stop pushing your creative boundaries!
Stay creative,
