New Camera Gear

Anamorphic Lens Mod for HERO13 Black

GoPro finally dropped that Anamorphic Lens Mod for the HERO13 Black. People have been waiting on this one for a while, and it actually sounds pretty solid if you’re into that cinematic vibe.

hey’re saying it gives you a wide 21:9 aspect ratio with less distortion and those classic lens flares. It auto-detects when you pop it on and even de-squeezes the footage right in the camera, which should save time in post.

It’s part of this whole new lens lineup they’re calling the HB-Series. There’s also a macro, an ultra-wide, and an ND filter set. You can grab the full kit with a case, or wait for the bundle with the HERO13 coming later. Seems like they’re really pushing for more pro-style content with smaller gear.

Blackmagic Drops PYXIS 12K

Blackmagic just dropped a new camera called the PYXIS 12K. It’s got the same sensor as the URSA Cine 12K, so it can shoot super detailed 12K footage with 16 stops of dynamic range. Pretty nuts.

The body is small and lightweight since it’s made from aluminum. You can rig it to drones or gimbals no problem. Comes with options for L-Mount, PL, or locking EF, so it works with a ton of lenses.

It has dual CFexpress slots, a built-in touchscreen, and it can livestream straight from the camera using mobile data or Ethernet. Price is $4,995 and it’s supposed to ship in July.

Nikon Z5II Full-Frame Mirrorless

Nikon just dropped the Z5II. It’s a full-frame mirrorless camera using the same processor as the Z9 and Z8, so it’s supposed to have some real power under the hood.
